Introduction to 100 Days of Productivity
Hi, my name is Shaams Nur, and I’m a freshman at Hoover High School. During the quarantine, I’m developing my productivity skills by using a different learning technique every week for 100 days. Specifically, I’ll be learning about each technique while I apply it (to for instance, staying up late at night to research the pros and cons of studying late at night). Each week, I will record my daily experiences using the respective learning technique, and I will write a big reflection on the last day of the week. Finally, at the end of the project, I’ll rank each study technique based on my overall ratings. However, there will be some constants, such as studying in the same place, not multitasking, not keeping my phone in the room, and not using Youtube, social media, etc. I will be using the following learning techniques:
- Week 1 — Pomodoro technique
- Week 2— The Feynman Notebook method (act like you are teaching it to a 5 year old)
- Week 3— Listening to music (both lyrical and non-lyrical)
- Week 4— Staying up late and studying
- Week 5— Waking up early and studying
- Week 6— Auditory learning
- Week 7— Visual learning
- Week 8— Self-quizzing
- Week 9— Study-exercise-study
- Week 10— Color-coded studying
- Week 11— Active recall
- Week 12/13— Spaced practice
- Week 14 — Not using technology
- Week 15 — Speed reading (viewers’ choice!)
